Pictures in these galleries were all photographed at 1/8 of a second. The number 8 has always been my favorite number. When rotated 90 degrees, it becomes the symbol for the infinite. Although the images were recorded inside a digital camera, they have not been digitally manipulated in anyway.
I was taught in photography classes not to shoot hand held at shutter speeds less than 1/60 of a second. But with these images I ignored rules and experimented instead. As quantum physicists tell us that people, objects and all matter may not have the solid boundaries that we usually perceive them as having, these pictures may be a more true representation of what the world really looks like. |
